Candidates have the possibility to work on experimental or theoretical topics in one or several of the following fields:

• Kinematically complete investigation of the interaction of ion beams in storage rings with atom molecule gas jets,
• Layout and assembly of elements for the manipulation of the beam structure in an electrostatic storage ring,
• Numerical simulation of novel accelerating structures,
• Development of innovative beam diagnostic techniques for future particle accelerators,
• Investigations into ion-based cancer therapy with a focus on the biological effect of antiprotons,
